To ensure that everyone gets the most out of being a member of this community, please follow these principles:

Purposeful Discussion

Engage with the intent to learn, inform, or explore other viewpoints. Discussions should contribute to a better understanding, not just disagreement.
However, rant and vent threads are acceptable as long as they are appropriately tagged and don't break other rules. Avoid derailing ongoing discussions with rant posts.

Differentiate Between Facts, Opinions, and Speculation

Not all statements hold the same weight. Be critical of claims presented as facts and ask for sources or evidence when necessary. Please note that at Nexus, information coming directly from official Smart Doll sources is subject to the same level of scrutiny as any other claim.
Be understanding toward personal opinions—they are just that, and unlike factual claims, they don't need to be proven.
To avoid misunderstandings, make it clear whether you are sharing a fact, observation, personal opinion, hypothesis, rumor, or speculation whenever possible.

Challenge Ideas, Not People

Potential disagreements should focus on arguments, reasoning, and evidence, not personal attacks. Critique viewpoints, but do not insult or label other members. Refrain from ad hominem arguments.
Do not post speculation and rumors about other members.

React gracefully to criticism and scrutiny of the content of your posts. Do not take personally what is not specifically directed at your person. Be ready to discuss and explain your viewpoint further or support your claims if questioned. Good discussions rely on reasoning, examples, and sources.

Be Direct, But Stay Respectful

Honest conversations are welcome, but hostility, sarcasm, and passive-aggressive behavior are not. Assume good faith in others’ contributions.

No Disruptive Behavior

Trolling, derailing conversations, or provoking arguments for the sake of conflict harms meaningful discussion.

Use Forum As Intended

Please familiarize yourself with the tag system and tag your post correctly.
If you start a discussion, give it a meaningful title.
If you reply, read at least the original (opening) post; don't reply to a title. Use the "Reply" function to indicate what you're replying to.
Avoid short posts just to express agreement; use "Like" for that.
Avoid multiple posts in a row; it's not a chat room.
Use "Flag" function to bring any post to forum staff's attention. Do not police the forum yourself.

Discussion about political, religious, and otherwise sensitive topics unless related to the doll discussion.
